Bridging UX and tech for smoother collaboration
Digital experience platform of a Swiss financial services company
When UX and tech teams don’t share a rhythm, collaboration slows down. Together, we built a clear, human process that connected people across disciplines and turned friction into flow – from concept to go-live.
The challenge
The development of a digital experience platform — including new features, functions and components — involved many teams: UX, frontend, backend, publishing and testing.
Each brought its own methods, tools and priorities. Without a shared process, collaboration often felt fragmented and slow.
Without regular exchange between disciplines, errors and inconsistencies were only discovered during testing — leading to long feedback loops and delayed releases.
Responsibilities were unclear, and technological limits sometimes clashed with design expectations.
Our approach
We focused on connection instead of coordination - creating a structure that brought teams together:
Brought all relevant stakeholders together early — from design to testing
Defined clear ownership per phase and ensured shared visibility
Introduced structured but light “design” and “tech” groomings to align perspectives
Simplified documentation and feedback loops
Built regular retrospectives into the flow to strengthen trust and learning
The process created transparency and rhythm - helping everyone pull in the same direction.
The result
Teams gained clarity, trust and confidence.
Collaboration between UX and development became natural and fast - no longer bound to meetings but supported by open, ongoing exchange.
Development cycles shortened noticeably, with smoother handovers and faster time to market for new website features.
It was no longer just a process - it became a bridge connecting people and disciplines.
My takeaway
Once the grooming meetings started, something shifted. People who initially couldn’t stand each other realised they were actually working toward the same goal.
As they began to connect, trust grew - and soon collaboration happened naturally, even outside the meetings, through quick exchanges on Slack.
In the end, we didn’t just streamline development - we built trust between people.
